To The Bone
The Norton Radstock Fun Run
The Norton Radstock Fun Run took place earlier this year in aid of the
National Osteoporosis Society. A destinytv.org.ukmunity team attended the
event to find out more. Despite wet and windy conditions the participants
and organisers remained in good spirits and told our team about the event,
the charity, their motivation and exactly how they felt as they ran across
the finishing line.
of an Acting for Camera class at Radstock Youth Centre, this short drama
looks at the consequences of drink driving. The young people involved
wrote, planned and performed this film on a project organised by DestinyTV,
North East Somerset Arts and Youth & Community Services.
Mill Community Enterprise
been producing organically grown food at Radford Mill farm for 25 years.
Now there are plans to renovate a beautiful but derelict mill on the site
to create employment and training for local groups and an exciting centre
for visitors, all run on renewable energy. We talked to the people driving
the project - see how they're getting on down at the farm.
Of Doris Intercultural Summer School
when the sun still shone a DestinyTV team went on a roadtrip to the deep
south of Somerset to meet some of the people involved in the Tribe Of
Doris Intercultural Summer School. This event is a unique opportunity
for people to develop skills in music and performance with teachers from
all over the world. Three short videos have been edited from the material
we shot, more will follow.
An interview with Colin who runs the Digital Youth Sessions in the Youth
Tent, one of the liveliest places to be at Doris.
Chaz tells of his experiences at Doris and why he considers it such
an essential place to share musical skills.
An interview with Cal in her travelling garden - the most peaceful place
to be whichever event you are at.
Island Disc - Popacatapetl
this great music video from local band Popacatapetl (from Santa Banana).
Humorous, theatrical and eversoslightly unreal (like their music), it
was shot on location in Spain and Avon Gorge - DestinyTV goes international!
The castaway star is none other than Generalissimo Franco Sinatra, the
focus of a forthcoming DestinyTV documentary.
Food, Your Choice
presentation about the concept of Food Miles - the distance that food
travels before it reaches its final destination.
