Our
Mission
DestinyTV productions are made by local people, about local people, for
local people. As well as providing skills and training in media production,
we provide an online internet channel to allow the programmes to reach
beyond the local audience to potential employers in a wider sphere. The
local nature of DestinyTV encourages a vibrant community by providing
information, networking opportunities and exposure for individuals, organisations
and events.
 
Our
Facilities
DestinyTV is fully equipped for digital video production with a full range
of the latest equipment. Broadcast quality DV cameras are backed up by
pro tripods, radio and boom microphones, Steadicam, Minidisk, lights,
dolly and track, and bluescreen facilities. We have a small television
studio and excellent dedicated sound recording rooms with full mixing
facilities in separate control rooms. For editing we have two Avid suites,
a Final Cut Pro suite and iMovie stations. Software includes Premiere,
After Effects, Cubase, Soundforge, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks,
Dreamweaver and Homesite installed on computers in a dedicated teaching
suite.
Although DestinyTV’s
output is screened on the internet, our range of facilities was selected
to provide relevant training for todays broadcast media as well as smaller
scale new media projects. We also have the latest DVD authoring facilities
and projection equipment for local presentation of our programmes.
Our
Team
DestinyTV pilots locally generated, locally relevant media content developed
by community production teams. Our professional facilitators train the
editorial and production teams and assist them with their programmes.
In turn they pass on their knowledge to future teams, increasing the local
skills base.

Our
Working Partners
DestinyTV, Somervale School, B&NES Adult & Community Education
Service and the Technology Colleges Trust work in partnership on this
strategic initiative to develop Life Long Learning in the Norton Radstock
area. It is an exciting and dynamic opportunity to involve and inspire
the local community, offering routes into further or higher education
or into modern professional apprenticeships.
